On March 1st and 2nd, Leopoldo L贸pez will present his case in a public hearing held by the Inter-American Court of Human Rights in San Jos茅, Costa Rica. The Court will decide if Venezuela has violated the political rights of its citizens by implementing administrative political disqualifications.

The Court's decision will be crucial for Venezuela as Venezuelans struggle to ensure that political disqualification not be used in the future as a tool of persecution that weakens democracy throughout the region.

The ruling could avoid the ongoing and future application of political disqualification thereby allowing citizens to elect candidates of their choosing and not only those presented by the current Venezuelan government.

L贸pez has made a short video explaining the case in further detail.
